Do You Want Clear Skin?
Put your best face forward for the spring season.
Literally. You’ll need to replenish what your skin is lacking no matter what the season. So, let’s work on maintaining your flawless skin.
There are some golden rules in skincare that everyone should adhere to. You need to incorporate a seasonal skincare regimen because the differences in weather affect your skin greatly. Therefore, you’ll need to replenish what your skin is lacking to obtain truly clear skin.
Determine Your Skin Type
First and foremost, it’s necessary to determine what skin type you are categorized in. You have several options to determine your skin type.

They will attempt to sell you a plethora of products to address your skin needs. You will end up paying a fortune, so just ask for samples. Or, you can apply my tips.
There are five basic skin types:
Dry and dehydrated
Oily (can be acne prone)
Combination (can be acne prone)
Signs to Look For
When one suffers from dry skin, you need to look for any splotchy red patches on your face or typical flaking. This is especially true during the colder months of the year. Normal skin is just that. There are no major issues with your skin. Oily skin will have a shine to it, and sometimes, you may even notice seepage from your pores. Combination skin will have properties of both dry and oily skin. You may be prone to acne with oily or combination skin, have dry patches every so often, or you find yourself blotting excess oil throughout the day.

Treating Your Skin Type
After you’ve determined your skin type, it’s necessary to use products geared towards your specific problems to obtain clear skin. There are cleansers for every type of skin you may have. Choose one that specifically addresses your issues. It’s very important that you wash your face twice a day. Even if you don’t wear makeup during the day, pollutants pile up that will clog your pores, causing breakouts and the visibility of large pores.
You need to use an effective cleanser, serum, moisturizer and exfoliator that are appropriate for your skin.
How to Use Your Cleanser Effectively
Use your cleanser with a washcloth or your fingertips and scrub gently for one minute, then rinse or wipe off with a washcloth. If you really want your pores cleared out of all the “gunk” that piles up, you can consider a sonic brush or a pore extraction mask. I prefer the former because it really gets your skin clean.
Why Use Serums?
Use a serum that meets the needs of your skin. Serums penetrate deeper into the skin than moisturizers and are stronger to target your skin issues. They work synergistically with your moisturizer to optimize its effects and maintain flawless skin.
Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize
[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]It’s vital to moisturize your skin with the proper face cream. It cannot be a body lotion. It must be a moisturizer specifically for the skin on your face.[/perfectpullquote]
Oily Skin NEEDS Moisturization
I know those of you who have oily skin are thinking, “I would never use a moisturizer. It would just make my skin oilier”. That cannot be further from the truth. The reason your skin is oily is because it lacks moisture. Sounds like a contradiction, I know. But, in essence, your skin is dehydrated and the moisture needs to be replaced. Don’t confuse oiliness with moisture. Moisturizers hydrate your skin to keep it in balance so your skin will not produce excess oil.
Regardless if you never stray from your skin care routine, dead cells still build up on your face and can prevent you from obtaining clear skin.
Cleansers will not remove dead skin cells. An exfoliator needs to be incorporated into your routine at a minimum of twice a week.
The myth of not needing sunscreen is totally false.
Whether the temperature is hot and humid or cold and windy, your face needs to be protected from the UVA/UVB rays of the sun. These rays break through hazy or cloudy days as well. Never leave the house without a sunscreen to prevent aging or sun damage to your face.
Start with a clean canvas on your skin every day.
I promise, you will see a noticeable difference and you’ll be one step closer to clear skin!
