- As mentioned, it is underwritten by the American Modern Insurance Group. It is given an A+ A.M. Best rating.
- The pet health insurance provider requires a veterinary exam of your pet dog or cat within the last 12 months before the policy start date or 14 days after the policy start date.

- Pre-existing conditions as defined by Embrace are as follows:
- Chronic Condition observed by you or your Veterinary Provider prior to the end of the Waiting Period for your Pet(s) and any related conditions; or

- Undiagnosed conditions with the same Clinical Signs as those in a. or b. above are also considered pre-existing.
- If in case your pet has a pre-existing bilateral condition prior to enrolment of pet health insurance, they are believed to have a higher risk to have the same kind of situation on the other side of their body. More so, future occurrences of the same condition will not be covered by insurance.

WHAT ARE THE PROS AND CONS OF GETTING AN EMBRACE PET INSURANCE?
Just like any other reviews we made, allow us to share with you the pros and cons we found on the Embrace Pet Insurance.
Pros
– Healthy Pet Deductible. We like this feature, which we think is new and unique to Embrace. This will help you save a lot especially if your pet dog or cat is not the sickly type.
– We appreciate the fact that Embrace covers any treatment plan that your veterinarian suggests. For as long as your vet says it is needed for your pet’s overall health, Embrace will likely reimburse you for it. This includes nursing, surgery doctor, lab tests, diagnostics, hospital care, rehabilitation, or follow-up care.
– Based on customer reviews, Embrace’s customer service is at its best. Calls of pet owners are handled knowledgeably.
– Embrace has no lifetime limit.
– Embrace does not have a per-incident limit on its claims as the company uses a yearly deductible method of accounting.
– They offer optional Wellness Rewards.
– Embrace has an A+ BBB rating.
– Claims are paid within 5 to 15 working days.
– They offer up to a 10-% maximum discount for multiple pets.
Cons
– In New York, prescription medicine care is not included. It comes as a separate addition on top of your monthly premium.
– The premium is a bit pricey.
– There is a $1.00 monthly transaction fee, plus a $25 enrolment fee.
– Embrace requires a 2-day waiting period (while it can take up to 14 days in other states) for accidents 4-day waiting period for illness coverage, and a 6-month waiting period for orthopedic conditions — although it can be reduced to 14 days through their Orthopedic Exam and Waiver Process
– They only cater to pets who are 14 years and below, which we think is unnecessary as it is usually the older ones that are more prone to accidents
– They do not have an unlimited claims option.
WHAT CUSTOMERS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT EMBRACE PET INSURANCE?
Having said all that, to complete our review, here are some of the customer reviews of Embrace Pet Insurance:
The adjusters worked tirelessly to overturn a pre-existing condition that was not really a condition at all. They reviewed all the vet’s info and letters and agreed that Hannah’s problem was not ever a medical or behavioral problem. Then they overturned the pre-existing on her record. The adjusters were fair and worked hard, with kindness and good cheer. I recommend this company to all pet parents. I feel secure in the knowledge that if there is ever is a claim to be made, it will be handled with the same care. Awesome representatives and adjusters.

A high deductible policy from embrace is the best money you’ll ever spend. There’s nothing like the relief that comes when the e-clinic pushes a $3,000 estimate across the table and you only have to worry about $1,000 of it. Also, remember people who never file a claim haven’t ‘lost’ their money. Getting more money back than you paid in is never positive when it comes to insurance – it’ means you had something horrible happen like totaling your car or having your house burn to the ground. In sum, get pet insurance, get it early and keep paying it and hope you never use it.

The claim process was so speedy and very easy to follow.
