London Fashion Week: 5 Hottest New Designers

Blogging As a Business

Are you ready to meet some of London’s hottest new designers? London Fashion Week Fall 2016 was everything we expected and more.

Burberry A/W 16 collection completely stole the show this season, with designs that were both stunning and comfortable. Alexander McQueen’s return to the runway at fashion week was everything we anticipated- with large, shimmery butterflies, sparkling capes, and sheer evening gowns.

But, for the most part, what caught our eye during fashion week was the New Gen Collection, which showcased emerging designers. This was a chance for new blood to enter the industry. In support of their bravery, we’ve decided to list the five hottest new designers that we fell in love with during London Fashion Week.

#1: Palmer & Harding

Levi Palmer and Matthew Harding aim to make their clothes about the person wearing them.

The garments they showcased during fashion week are for real people, and they mold the classic cotton into new forms and contour through a fusion of fluidity and structure.

#2: JW Anderson

Though his background lies in menswear, this was Anderson’s fourth season showcasing women’s wear during fashion week – and his fan base has steadily grown over time. His designs are modern with a serious edge, and we’ve noticed a combination of conventional technique and raw innovation.

His signature designs are preconceived ideas that add a twist to modern clothes.

Simone’s designs are mainly for girls who like to mix textures that are rough and smooth. She likes to play with lace, perspex, leather and PVC to create her designs.

This season, Simone went for a modern, tough romance look for her collection.

Jackie Lee made her debut during fashion week in February after working as a pattern cutter for several years.

Jackie wants to cater to women who have simple style aesthetics but embrace modernity subtly.

#5: Marques & Almeida

Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida worked together on a collaborative graduation collection that was based on 90’s street culture before launching their own line during fashion week. Their designs are mainly deconstructed grunge denim and knits.
